Kat tagorda
Kat Tagorda is a multidisciplinary artist based in Burbank, California. She received both her BA and MFA from California State University, Northridge. She is a recipient of the Arts Council Scholarship and the Second Place winner of the CSUN Student Juried Art Show. Her work has been featured in the 8th Annual Alpay Scholarship Exhibition at the Palos Verdes Art Center and the 2025 MA | MFA Graduate Exhibition at the CSUN Main Gallery. Tagorda has worked as an exhibition installer, studio manager for the CSUN Graduate Studios, and artist assistant for Kalli Arte Collective.
Her practice is informed by memory and the emotional weight of everyday objects. Her installations center on craft across various mediums, creating modular environments based on domestic spaces that carry personal significance and are altered through subtle distortions and shifts in form. She distorts and reconfigures familiar materials—textiles, photographs, furniture, and found objects—to echo how memory rearranges what we remember. Through these interventions, Tagorda reflects on the instability of recollection and the quiet presence of absence in spaces we once called home.
